Testnet Update: Bit.Country’s Faucet and Collator Node Operator Is Now Live
Bit.Country is a decentralized world built on blockchain that allows users to create communities, cities, buildings, bit countries and other assets in the digital space. This model is made possible by means of NFTs. The model also allows buying and selling of NFTs. As such, users can make money from digital assets just like money is being made in the real world from trading assets.
Bit.Country’s testnet faucet is now live and individuals can start receiving the testnet tokens of the project. The currency or token of Bit.Country is $NUUM. At the moment, the token isn’t out for sale. However, testnet tokens can be gotten from the faucet and staked to boost the network’s security.
To use the faucet, a user will need to have a Polkadot wallet address. New users can easily create a Polkadot wallet address from the www.polkadot.js.org/extension/
Users who wish to access Bit.Country’s Testnet faucet must also be members of the project’s Telegram or Discord social platform.
Getting the Faucet via Telegram
To get the faucet via Telegram, users will need to join the official Bit.Country’s channel. Upon joining the channel, the user will type the command

Bit.Country will reward holders of the testnet token when it fully launches in the coming weeks.
Bit.Country’s Collator Node Operator
The project’s collator node operator is also available for users to run on the platform. Individuals who wish to support the project can apply to become collator node operators. While developers may find it easier to run a node, noobs can also run a node by building from the source or by using Docker.
Running a Node by Building From Source
Users will need to set up a build environment either on Windows or Linux.
The first step is to go to the repository of Bit.Country and clone the repository. The user should do this using the correct commit hash.
Install Rust and Initialize the Wasm Build Environment.
The init.sh file should be found after initializing. However, if it isn’t found, it implies that the user is outside the
Build on the Cargo command after initializing. As soon as the build is successful, the bitcountry-node binary will be available in the release folder. The node will then begin to sync blocks if the process is successful.
Running a Node Using Docker
In order to use Docker to run a node, the user must first of all install Docker on his PC. To setup the node, choose the folder for storing the chain data. It is the responsibility of the user to check if the chosen folder exists and can be used to store the data. Validators who plan to run the validator node subsequently should add the key “ — pruning archive” to the command at the end.
After the end of this process, the node should be running and syncing with other nodes.
Bond $NUUM and Session Keys
$NUUM collected can be bonded or staked. This can be done on the staking section of the platform. The controller account determines when to begin or end validating nodes.
Additionally, users need to submit an extrinsic. This will tell the chain their session keys and link validator nodes with their controller account on Tewai Chain.
Users can check all live nodes on Telemetry. Telemetry displays all the running nodes on the Bit.Country Tewai chain network. It will be easier for users to identify their nodes if they label their nodes with a distinct name. Upon checking, the user can go ahead and click “validate” if everything looks great and there is no need for editing.
